Ocimene Terpene

Welcome Spaced Cadets! In this blog we will be introducing another beneficial terpene! Terpenes offer potential health benefits that could help us day to day. Follow along to learn about Ocimene and its benefits.

Ocimene is a non-psychoactive terpene that is also referred to as Beta-Ocimene. Ocimene has the properties of being anti-fungal, anti-oxidative, anti-inflammatory, decongestant, and anti-viral. Ocimene is also used for mood improvement effects. A study in 2015 showed that Beta-Ocimene helped treat diseases like ringworm. A recent study in 2020 showed Ocimene to be effective in inflammation and pain. It can help clear nasal passages, mucus, and airways; to help you breathe. Ocimene is still being studied further today.

Ocimene is a monoterpene found in many plants, fruits, spices, and vegetables. Ocimene is found in mint, orchids, bay laurels, and mangos. Ocimene helps strains with their aroma by giving them sweet and herby smells. Strains that are most abundant with Ocimene are Green Crack, Golden Pineapple, Clementine, Jack Herer, and Mandarin Dream. You could find Ocimene in just about everyday products. Ocimene is in shampoo, soap, perfumes, and fabric softener. Ocimene helps those products by giving off its aroma.

If you have nasal congestion or pain, Ocimene could help alleviate those symptoms. The studies on Ocimene that have been conducted show much promise in the future for this terpene. If you could benefit from Ocimene, come by Spaced and see our products for the terpene. Our budtenders will be more than glad to help you get what you need!
